# Tool Maintenance

While exploring Mars, colonists make use of their tools to further their own survival and benefit themselves through amassing resources and assets. These tools have durability systems meaning that they suffer from wear and tear while being actively used. A tool that exhausts its durability bar becomes broken. There are two different methods to keep your equipment in good condition:

* Repair Kits - A consumable item that players use on damaged equipment to restore the item’s durability.

* Repair Station - A machine that takes equipment that is broken to repair and restore the item to a usable condition.
